Vicky's Practice Diary Only seven weeks to the start of season 2003. It won't be long until we take to the field for the first time in the new season. This year is even more exciting then any before as this it's World Bowl Glasgow! Everyone is really excited, rookies and vets alike. We have all been working really hard since tryouts in September and now there is only a matter of weeks until all the training is put into action at Hampden. Training has been going great and since Christmas we have all been working even harder with training being increased to three nights a week to ensure that everything is ready for April to impress the fans with all of our new routines. Now all we are waiting for is Shuggie to come along and join in with the kick-lines and stunts and we are ready to go. The rookies have been warned about the water cannons so Shuggie watch out as it's about time the cheerleaders get their own back. This year we have a karate black belt on the squad so be afraid! Everyone has been getting on great and pulling together to create one of the most professional, talented and not to forget stunning squads the fans have ever seen. Every year the squad gets better and this year has been no different. There are girls on the squad with backgrounds as diverse as Latin American, jazz, highland and one or two champion gymnasts, so all of these talents have been pulled together to create some new and wonderful material that you will see performed at backfield and in the stadium - don't miss it! Not only have we been working hard for the start of the season, but we have also had to fit in practise for the Super Bowl Party which unveiled some of our new material to our fans. It was a great night and we were all so pleased to see everyone there supporting us for the first time this season. Now we are working hard to perfect a routine for the CIS Cup Final where you can see us perform as a squad for the first time in March. Along with this we have also had to find time for all our other promotions such as the launch of the Glasgow Schools Cheer Competition which is launched later this month - so we are as busy as ever! With over twenty new sideline routines and lots of pre-game and half-time shows too, everyone is getting excited about the season as it draws near. Then we have a World Bowl performance to put together to wow the crowd, which will be something spectacular so don't miss it! Everyone has been contributing to the new, exciting choreography with the end results looking amazing, and courtesy of Reebok and its trendy work-out gear we are all looking amazing while we train too! So it won't be long now until our first outing against Berlin and I can speak for the whole squad when I say we are looking forward to seeing you all again at Hampden to create the fantastic and unique experience that is Claymores Gameday!!! See you soon, Vix |
